Why I Give

“I took an oath to support my Brothers, and giving to the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation fulfills that promise. My contribution helps programs that uplift Undergraduates and Alumni alike.”

Giving back has been important to John since he was a young child. John remembers his mother volunteering to raise donations for Red Cross, saying, “that kind of thing affected me my entire life. We have a responsibility to help others.” John’s dedication has shaped countless lives and will continue inspiring future Lambda Chi’s thanks to his gift.

“We as Brothers have an obligation not only to the Inner Circle, but also to the Outer Circle of the world. Donations to the Educational Foundation are extremely important in carrying out this mission. Undergraduate leadership training and other programs give our young Brothers the tools they need to uphold our oaths and obligations—and by our actions, make society a better place.”

Giving back to Lambda Chi Alpha became Chuck’s vehicle for serving others. Through his work on the Educational Foundation board, Chuck grew to appreciate the fraternity’s ever-growing message focused on bettering one’s communities. He hopes his legacy inspires others to lead lives of service for centuries to come.

Chuck Jones, Sam Houston State ‘81

“I support the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation because I believe in the transformative power of education and Brotherhood. As a member of Lambda Chi Alpha, I experienced firsthand the lasting impact that this organization has on personal growth, leadership development, and lifelong friendships. By contributing to the Foundation, I am investing in the future of young men who will carry forward the values of our fraternity—integrity, loyalty, and service to others.”

“I joined the Mason Circle to uphold the beliefs every Lambda Chi should embrace. The belief in encouraging our actives and alumni to support our greater mission of developing better men. The story of the Bridge Builder reminds us of the vital moral lesson of paying it forward to the brothers who come after us and beyond. To truly embody our ideals, we must support one another, and I believe the Educational Foundation plays a crucial role in that effort.”

Brother Nicholas A. Damiano is a proud volunteer with the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation and is the 2025 Founders’ Day Challenge Chairman. His passion for our mission stems from generations of Brothers creating opportunities for him. His late uncle, Brother J.P. Ottino III, taught him that, no matter what in life, to pay it forward. In 2024, he established the Nicholas A. Damiano Conference Accessibility Scholarship.
