Brothers Band Together
Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation created the Anchor Fund as an area of support dedicated to disaster and emergency relief.
This fund provides hope and financial aid for our Brothers in a time of stress and uncertainty. While we don’t know what the future holds, we’re confident that our Brotherhood will grow stronger and we’re resilient in the face of adversity.
Thanks to generous donors to the Anchor Fund, grants are available to Brothers in need. If you are facing financial hardship due to an (inter)national disaster, apply online for emergency aid.
If you have questions, please get in touch with the Foundation team at foundation@lambdachi.org.
How Can I Receive a Grant?
The Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation’s Anchor Fund makes emergency grants to members who qualify for emergency aid.
If you are facing financial hardship due to a qualified disaster or (inter)national emergency, please apply for emergency aid through the Anchor Fund by completing an application.
Grants are available for up to $500 for essential needs only: food, shelter, medical needs, and employment-critical transportation.
Our Programs Committee will review applications as they are received and award grants on an individual basis based on qualifying circumstances.
Criteria to be eligible for grant assistance from the Anchor Fund:
- You must be an Associate Member, Collegiate Brother, or Alumnus in good standing with an immediate and verifiable financial hardship resulting from a qualified disaster or (inter)national emergency.
- You must have demonstrated good faith to explore other available funding options (insurance, free or low-cost services, student aid, etc.).
- Priority will go to current Associate Members, Collegiate Brothers and Alumni Brothers who have graduated within the past ten years who have never received an Anchor Fund award.
Please be prepared to provide the following documentation when completing your online application:
- Proof of identity (documentation from federal agency containing full or last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN), military identification, driver’s license, U.S. passport)
- Proof of household income (paystubs, W2s, tax filings, or bank statements)
- Proof of primary residence (copy of the deed, mortgage, or lease bearing your name)
- Proof of primary residence damage or documentation related to your need for assistance (pictures, fire marshal report, insurance claim, insurance adjuster report)
If you are unable to provide documentation for any requested area, or unable to complete the application online, please email foundation@lambdachi.org to let us know so we can assist you.
