For Matt Sheehan (Missouri State ’18), being surrounded by people who expected more of him made a meaningful difference. Eddie Nava (Cal State – Los Angeles) didn’t join Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity expecting to discover a leader in himself. But through his time with the Chapter, he found opportunities to take responsibility, organize events that served thousands in the community, and contribute in ways that pushed him to grow. Those experiences helped Eddie recognize strengths he had not yet seen in himself and showed him that leadership can begin with stepping forward to help. As a sophomore, William Eskew (Coe College) was involved on campus but still struggling to find where he truly fit. Then the Brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha reached out and gave him the support and encouragement that changed his college experience. Through Brotherhood, William found a community that helped him grow, develop as a leader, and make the most of his time in college. His story is a reminder of the difference it can make when a young man is surrounded by people who believe in his potential and are willing to support him along the way. In recognition of DAF Day, we’re sharing an overview of how donor-advised funds work, why some donors choose to use them, and how they can simplify charitable giving over time. Applications for the Kris Reddy Global Education Scholarship are now open! This scholarship was created to help Undergraduate Brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha pursue international study abroad programs and experiences, providing financial support to help make those opportunities possible. Established by Brother Kris Reddy, California State-Chico ’19, the scholarship reflects the Foundation’s commitment to investing in educational experiences that help Brothers grow, discover new perspectives, and prepare for what comes next. When Jeffrey Steele Scholarship recipient Daniel Pallekonda (High Point ’28) arrived on campus his freshman year, he wasn’t sure fraternity life was for him. Today, he describes Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity as an experience that has helped shape his college years. An International Business major with minors in Chinese and Leadership, Daniel hopes to build a career connecting businesses in the United States and China. At the same time, he’s growing as a leader through his role as High Tau at Lambda Chi Alpha HPU and learning what it means to be someone his Brothers can count on. Through the generosity of donors, scholarships like this help Brothers continue pursuing their education while making the most of the opportunities that shape their college experience and prepare them for what comes next. After years of work to secure a permanent home at 10 Madbury Road, nearly 100 Alumni Brothers contributed more than $1 million through the Returning Home Campaign. But purchasing the house was only the beginning. With less than three months before Undergraduate Brothers were set to move in, Alumni and Undergraduate Members came together to give the Chapter House a complete refresh. Brothers spent evenings, weekends, and countless hours painting, repairing, landscaping, building, and preparing the house for the next generation to call home. That work culminated in a rededication celebrating Lambda Chi Alpha’s return to 10 Madbury Road, this time as owners. Today, we recognize the hundreds of Brothers whose generosity, hard work, and perseverance made this moment possible. Their efforts are a fitting example of Kalepa Ta Kala: what is worthwhile is difficult, and some things are worth working for. Welcome home, Alpha-Xi!
Fraternity, done right, grounds growth in respect. More than 50 years ago, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity made a significant change to the fraternity experience. In 1972, it became the first fraternity to abolish pledging, replacing it with Associate Membership. Associate Members received voting rights in Chapter matters and the ability to run for office. It was a meaningful statement about the kind of Brotherhood Lambda Chi aspired to build: young men can be challenged to grow while also being welcomed with dignity and respect. That principle continues to inform our work today. The Lambda Chi Foundation invests in the programs and experiences that help Brothers strengthen their character, develop as leaders, and build a sense of belonging within Lambda Chi. It was a great Homecoming weekend at Butler! Lambda Chi Alpha at Butler University Undergraduate Members and Alumni Brothers came together at the Alpha-Alpha Chapter House for good food, plenty of conversation, and a Butler win over Chicago State. This year’s gathering also saw the highest turnout of young Alumni yet, making it an especially exciting opportunity to reconnect with old friends and build relationships across generations of Lambda Chi. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the weekend a success!

Fraternity done right provides purpose through service. Research from the American Institute for Boys and Men shows us one way that today’s young men can find meaning. Although men volunteer at lower rates than women, those who do rank volunteering among their most meaningful activities. Other AIBM research has found men describing purpose through the roles they play in the lives of others. At Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, service gives Brothers an opportunity to put that idea into practice. It’s also central to what it means to grow, serve, and lead as #menwithpurpose. Recently, Theta-Kappa Brothers came together for the Chapter’s 21st annual “P-Day,” bringing Alumni and Undergraduate Members back to the Chapter house for a weekend of work and connection. Brothers completed projects throughout the property, including driveway repairs, landscaping, exterior cleaning, maintenance, and several updates inside the house. Since 2006, P-Day has given generations of Theta-Kappa Brothers an opportunity to work together, reconnect, and help care for the Chapter house they have all called home.
