Effective date: October 15, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of lambdachifoundation.org and its content, features, and services (the “Website”). The Website is operated by Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation, Inc. (“Foundation,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By using the Website, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Website.

1. About the Foundation and Website

The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports educational programs and activities associated with Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. The Website provides information about the Foundation, its programs, and ways to support its work, including online giving and fundraising campaigns. (lambdachifoundation.org)

The Website is intended for informational, charitable, and personal use. It is not intended to provide legal, tax, financial, or other professional advice.

2. Eligibility and acceptable use

You may use the Website only in compliance with these Terms and applicable law. You agree not to:

  • Use the Website for an unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, or harmful purpose.
  • Interfere with the Website’s operation, security, or availability.
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or collect Website content or information without our written permission, except as allowed by applicable law.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, spam, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with the Foundation, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, or a fundraising campaign.
  • Post or submit another person’s personal information without their consent.

We may restrict or terminate access to the Website if we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms or used the Website in a way that could harm the Foundation, its users, or others.

3. Donations and online fundraising

3.1 Donation processing

Donations made through links or forms on the Website may be processed by third-party providers, including GoFundMe Pro. When you make a donation through a third-party platform, that transaction is also subject to the platform’s own terms, privacy notice, payment rules, and other applicable policies. The platform’s terms govern its services; these Terms govern your use of this Website.

Please review the applicable platform terms and notices before completing a donation. Our current giving pages likewise direct donors to GoFundMe’s terms and privacy notice for donations made through that platform. (lambdachifoundation.org/donate)

3.2 Donation information and tax deductibility

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions may be deductible for federal income tax purposes to the extent permitted by law. You are responsible for determining the tax treatment of your contribution and should consult your tax adviser if you have questions. A donation receipt or acknowledgment is not a guarantee of a particular tax result. (lambdachifoundation.org)

If a donation is made in exchange for goods, services, benefits, or other consideration, the deductible amount may be affected. Any applicable disclosure will be provided with the relevant giving opportunity or receipt.

3.3 Donor designations and campaign descriptions

If you designate a gift for a particular fund, program, chapter, or campaign, we will make reasonable efforts to honor that designation, subject to applicable law, gift-acceptance policies, campaign terms, and the Foundation’s ability to use the funds for the designated purpose. If we cannot apply a gift as designated, we may contact you or apply it to a closely related charitable purpose, as permitted by law.

Campaign descriptions, goals, matching opportunities, deadlines, and progress figures are provided for informational purposes and may be updated or corrected. Unless campaign terms state otherwise, fundraising goals are targets, not guarantees.

3.4 Refunds and corrections

Please contact the Foundation promptly if you believe a donation was made in error, submitted without authorization, or processed incorrectly. Refund requests are reviewed in accordance with applicable law, the Foundation’s policies, and the rules of the payment platform. A payment platform may have separate procedures or deadlines for disputing a transaction.

4. Founders’ Day Challenge and peer-to-peer fundraising

The Founders’ Day Challenge may allow participants to create or share fundraising pages, solicit contributions, and communicate with potential donors through GoFundMe Pro or other third-party tools.

If you participate, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and represent the campaign and its purpose honestly.
  • Use campaign funds and fundraising tools only as authorized by the Foundation and the campaign instructions.
  • Follow applicable laws, these Terms, the campaign’s specific rules, and the applicable third-party platform terms.
  • Obtain consent before sharing another person’s image, story, contact details, or other personal information.
  • Avoid making promises about tax deductibility, matching gifts, fund use, or campaign outcomes that the Foundation has not authorized.
  • Promptly notify the Foundation if you believe a fundraising page, donation, or campaign communication is inaccurate, unauthorized, or fraudulent.

Unless the Foundation expressly states otherwise in writing, funds raised through a Foundation-approved campaign are intended for the charitable purpose identified by that campaign and are subject to the Foundation’s control and applicable gift-acceptance policies. Fundraisers must not suggest that contributions are paid directly to them unless that is explicitly authorized and accurately disclosed.

We may remove, edit, suspend, or close a fundraising page or campaign that we believe violates these Terms, campaign instructions, applicable law, or a third-party platform’s rules.

5. Facebook and other social fundraising tools

The Foundation may provide or promote fundraising options through Facebook or other social platforms. Those tools are operated by third parties and are subject to the third party’s own terms, privacy policies, payment processes, and availability.

The Foundation does not control third-party platforms and is not responsible for their operation, security, content, payment processing, data practices, or decisions to change, suspend, or discontinue a feature. Your use of a Facebook fundraiser or other social fundraising tool is between you and the relevant platform, subject to any Foundation campaign instructions that also apply.

Do not assume that information you provide to Facebook or another platform is governed by the Foundation’s Privacy Policy. Review the platform’s applicable privacy terms and settings before using its fundraising tools.

6. Privacy and communications

Our collection and use of personal information through the Website are described in our Privacy Policy. Third-party donation and social platforms may collect and use information under their own privacy policies.

If you sign up to receive Foundation communications, you may opt out of marketing communications using the unsubscribe method provided in the message or by contacting us. Transactional messages, such as donation receipts or account-related notices, may still be sent when necessary.

7. Website content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise noted, the Website and its content—including text, graphics, photographs, videos, logos, design, and other materials—are owned by or licensed to the Foundation and are protected by intellectual-property laws.

You may view, print, or download Website materials for personal, noncommercial use, provided you do not remove copyright or other notices. You may not reproduce, adapt, distribute, publicly display, sell, or create derivative works from Website content without our prior written permission, except as permitted by law.

“Lambda Chi Alpha,” the Foundation’s names and marks, and related logos and insignia may belong to the Foundation, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, or other rights holders. No license to use any mark is granted by these Terms.

8. User submissions and fundraiser materials

If you submit or post text, photographs, videos, testimonials, or other materials to the Foundation or through a Foundation-controlled Website feature (“Submissions”), you represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to provide them.

You retain ownership of your Submissions. However, by providing a Submission to the Foundation for a campaign or Website use, you grant the Foundation a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and adapt that Submission for the purposes for which you provided it, including promoting the relevant campaign and the Foundation’s charitable work. We will use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Do not submit confidential information or another person’s personal information unless you have authorization to do so. We may remove or decline to use Submissions at our discretion.

9. Third-party websites and services

The Website may link to or incorporate third-party websites, payment tools, social networks, or other services. Links are provided for convenience and do not necessarily imply endorsement. We do not control, and are not responsible for, third-party content, services, policies, or practices.

Your use of third-party services—including GoFundMe Pro and Facebook—is subject to the terms and policies of those providers. If a third-party service’s terms conflict with these Terms concerning that third-party service, the third party’s terms govern your use of its service.

10. Website availability and disclaimers

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Website or its features at any time. We do not guarantee that the Website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that Website content is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for every purpose. This section does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Website or a third-party service linked to it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Foundation’s total liability for claims relating to the Website or these Terms will not exceed the amount, if any, you paid directly to the Foundation for use of the Website giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

12. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, and agents from third-party claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your material violation of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Website, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Website after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the Website.

14. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Website will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Indiana, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Have counsel confirm the appropriate county and venue before publication.

15. Severability and entire agreement

If a court finds any provision of these Terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. These Terms, together with the policies and campaign terms they incorporate by reference, constitute the agreement between you and the Foundation concerning your use of the Website.
